Jinxuan Guihua

A blend of Oolong # 12 tea in rolled leaves and Osmanthus flowers for a fresh and very floral tea. Regulars will recognize its typical fragrance, a mixture of jasmine, honeysuckle & orange blossom, giving a clear tea, especially during the first infusion.

Subsequently, the characteristic taste and aromas of Oolong assert themselves as the rolled leaves unfold over the infusions.

Derived from Camellia Sinensis, Jinxuan is a relatively widespread cultivar. The resulting Oolong tea is often found under the formula "Milky Oolong", sometimes in connection with a flavoring of milk powder or other deliberate process.

In the case of this Jinxuan Guihua, Oolong Jinxuan tea has not undergone flavoring. Its character of "Milky Oolong" comes naturally from the soil on which it was cultivated, from its rather low altitude. It is then more of a slightly buttery-creamy texture given to the tea rather than a taste of milk.

Description

We thus have rolled leaves in shades of olive green to light green, dotted with small yellow flowers of Osmanthus.

This work of rolled leaf tea allows the leaves to be infused up to 7 times in a row, at a rate of about 1 to 2 minutes per infusion. The idea is to infuse small amounts of liquid with each infusion in order to appreciate the evolution of the aromas as the leaves unfold under the effect of hot water.

The important thing is to put the dose of tea out of water between 2 infusions.

Osmanthus

With its small yellow flowers reminiscent of mountain succulents, Osmanthus is widely distributed in Asia from the foothills of the Himalayas to southern Indochina. It is thus found on the edge of the K Jatuphon plantations in the north west of Thailand.
